Song Study - United States Collection
In the United States Collection, you'll find short, scripted lesson plans that help you to dive into the history connected with three songs:
“America, The Beautiful”
“My Country, ‘Tis of Thee”
“God Bless America”
This song study consists of 15 short, detailed lesson plans, taking you on a journey covering each verse of these three songs.
In our song studies, we tie music and visual art together. In this study, you’ll also explore the art of the iconic American artist, Winslow Homer, through picture studies of three of his paintings, and invitations to create thoughtful art inspired by his work.
This song study can be done family-style with a range of ages, but the student pages will be most appropriate for an elementary-age student who can read and write independently, roughly 3rd-6th grade.
